Your vote is needed to stop management from
freezing our wages for the next two years

Management has suspended negotiations for four months from July 26th to November 23rd of this year. On November 23rd they informed the bargaining team that they would be following Mr. McGuinty’s lead and freeze our wages for the next two years.

It’s time to support the negotiating team by coming out to vote.

The Bargaining team is only as strong as the members who support us.  A strong mandate will show the employer that they are bargaining with all members of OPSEU 596.

Don’t like the Liberal’s Plan to freeze the wages of a million Ontario public sector workers? Think the Liberals should fund services instead of giving their Bay Street friends a $2.4 billion corporate tax cut?

Finance Minister Dwight Duncan is the guy responsible for both policies. Could that be why he is coming to Bay Street to raise funds and have his back scratched in return?

It’s DEFINITELY why OPSEU is asking YOU and YOUR local activists and allies to join a RALLY outside the Duncan fundraiser. Help show the Liberals what we think of making public sector workers and our communities pay for a crisis we didn’t create!

TO ALL MEMBERS:

This year we will be having our festive celebrations with the Dinner/Dance (Saturday, December 4, 2010) and the festive lunch (Thursday, December 9, 2010), for all interested members.

There will be no cost to OPSEU members attending the Dinner/Dance ONLY.  Any member who is attending BOTH the Luncheon and the Dinner/Dance must pay for the dinner at a cost of $45.00.  The costs for guests to attend the Dinner/Dance will also be $45.00 per person.

We are also requesting that everyone receiving this email check with their OPSEU colleagues to insure that they have received it as well.  If they have not, please have them contact the OPSEU office immediately.

DO NOT RESPOND BY EMAIL–EMAIL INVITATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.  INVITATION RESPONSES MUST BE RECEIVED BY MAIL OR IN PERSON TO POD247-A.

Payment for tickets will be by cash and/or check to the OPSEU office – Room POD247-A and should be paid prior to the Dinner/Dance.
